High-Achieving Student Who Turned Ambition Into Opportunity
Background:
Liz was a driven and academically gifted student who began working with College Ready in ninth grade. From an early age, she knew she wanted to compete for admission to some of the nation’s most selective colleges and was committed to building a strong profile over all four years of high school.
Academically, Liz excelled. She earned a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.49 weighted GPA while challenging herself with rigorous coursework. By the end of her junior year, she had completed five AP courses, earned AP Scholar with Distinction by scoring 5 on every AP exam, and continued taking advanced coursework throughout her senior year.
Outside the classroom, Liz sought meaningful leadership opportunities rather than simply filling her résumé. She became captain of her soccer team, served as editor of her school newspaper, and played an active role on College Ready’s President’s Leadership Council, participating in community service initiatives that reflected her commitment to helping others.
Although she was already an exceptional student, Liz wanted guidance to ensure every academic, leadership, and service decision aligned with her long-term college goals.

Together, we developed a long-term plan that balanced academic rigor with leadership, service, and personal growth. Each year focused on making intentional choices that would reinforce her strengths while creating an authentic story for admissions officers.

Liz became an active member of College Ready’s President’s Leadership Council, contributed to community service projects, and ultimately earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Bronze).
As part of her testing strategy, Liz prepared extensively for both the PSAT and ACT. She earned an outstanding PSAT score of 1470, qualifying for National Merit Scholarship consideration, and achieved a composite ACT superscore of 34.
