Lorna believes in the power of education and its influence on social mobility. For this reason, she is committed to helping students succeed in all aspects of their lives and dedicates her life to offering new educational opportunities for all. She is described by others as caring and patient. Lorna is currently an academic counselor at UC San Diego. As a mother of two sons, she is very aware of the college planning process and meeting the individual needs of differing students. Her first son is pursuing a career in biochemistry at UC San Diego and her second son is currently gearing up for B.F.A. college applications in the fine arts. Lorna looks forward to working with students and families of College Ready. Lorna holds a Master of Education in College Administration from Oregon State University and a Master of Science in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from San Diego State University.
